Financial education is a life-long pursuit ...We believe the statement above to be true, and so we created InvestEd with the goal to provide Australian investors with a comprehensive on-line source of financial education. Most sites cover only one or two aspects of investing, and very few focus on how various investing techniques and vehicles can be used together to maximise your returns, like we do at InvestEd.
Investor Education Pty Limited (InvestEd) was formed in 2005 and has created a supportive and informed learning environment to give you the knowledge and the tools to invest successfully. Our dynamic community allows you to learn from other like-minded investors, and our team of experts provide guidance and direction - plus valuable educational material.
Even experienced investors can learn from the knowledge and expertise of others - and they can also find satisfaction in the joy of helping other investors in their own quest for financial success. This is why we didn't just build a website - we built a community of investors!
The team behind InvestEd share some common characteristics:
Simon Hampel - IT Professional and EducatorInformation Technology professional, successful investor and business owner, Simon Hampel (aka Sim') is our Managing Director and the technical brains behind our website. Apart from looking after the day-to-day management of the InvestEd site and resources, Simon also heads up our editorial team. For Simon the great thing about InvestEd is that it allows him to combine his skills in technology and his interest in investing, with his passion for education. Education is in Simon's blood (both of his parents are school teachers, as is his sister) and he is currently completing a Master of Education in Adult Education (UTS). Simon also has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical and Computer Sciences (UofA) and over 10 years of experience developing and maintaining websites and building online collaborative communities.
Nick Moustacas - AccountantNick is a chartered accountant and successful investor. Nick runs his practice Strategic Wealth Management to assist investors and business owners with their tax and structuring needs, and is also a PS146 compliant financial planner. Nick is that rarest of breeds - an interesting accountant! He is recognised by his peers as a leading practitioner in the field of investment structuring, and enjoys nothing better than figuring out new and innovative ways for his clients to pay less tax. Nick specialises in structuring real estate investments, asset protection, hybrid discretionary trusts, small to medium sized businesses, and self managed superannuation funds. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce with an Accountancy major (UofW). In his spare time, Nick is a Registered Company Auditor, a Registered Tax Agent, and also a Justice of the Peace - and gets asked to present to investors on a regular basis at seminars and meetings.
Nigel Ward - SolicitorNigel is a lawyer, but please don't hold that against him. Nigel has spent nearly a decade acting for investment banks and ASX-listed corporations on some of the largest financing deals in Australasia. Despite sometimes barely seeing the world outside his office for weeks on end, he is also a successful investor and has managed to build a significant property and share portfolio over the last 5 years. He has even found time to roll up his sleeves to work on a couple of renovations. Nigel brings the expertise of the big end of town to private investors. He has been published in more than a dozen journals and texts on various arcane legal topics and has a knack for making complex legal topics more easily understood. Nigel holds a Bachelor of Information Technology (with Distinction), a Bachelor of Laws (Hons), a Master of Laws (QUT) and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment (Sec Inst). He is a solicitor of the Supreme Courts of Queensland and New South Wales and of the Federal Court and an Associate of the Securities Institute of Australia.
Jacque Parker - Buyers' AgentJacque bought her first investment property in 1990, long before it became fashionable to own an 'IP'. A successful renovator and skilled negotiator, Jacque continues to actively expand her property empire and has already renovated 6 properties. Jacque has a Diploma of Teaching (CCES), a Bachelor of Education (ECU) and gained extensive teaching and tutoring experience before stopping work to raise a family. Now the mother of three young children (11, 9, 6), Jacque is an inspiration to stay-at-home mums - proving that they can be successful and raise a family at the same time. In fact, Jacque's investment portfolio has allowed her the freedom to choose not to return to fulltime teaching while raising her family! Now that her children are all school-aged, Jacque has made the most of her time and has put her negotiation skills to work with the establishment of her own Sydney based Buyers Agency - House Search Australia. Jacque is always looking for property bargains, is a networker extraordinaire and loves catching up with fellow investors to talk property.
