The authors of investment books make more money from the sale of the books - not the strategies - so be careful.. your best bet is a full service broker who is at the screen all day.

Full service brokers make money from selling shares.
The only strategy full service brokers have is to sale more shares...

The point is, full service brokers offer advise to people like Johny_come_lately.

They make money from both buying and selling shares on their clients behalf and offer advice when required - they can put in place strategies e.g. my broker used ETO's as risk management etc etc... pretty simply for him - not for Johny using etrade. They take in to account your investment objectives and act accordingly - if they don't they loose their client and make nothing... something must be going right.

They also have links to institutional investors of who are the ones that are moving the market - if you can follow the the good ones from the good brokers, chances are you'll be going OK.

They also make money off fee for service etc etc.

Johny - by all means, read a book... but it sounds like you need advice from a professional. I'm sure Tropo is very schooled in investment - anyone who posts 2500 times on a forum must be right? ah huh.

Have a look at Comprehensive, Insightful, Stock Market Analysis - Under The Southern Cross - make a start there.

But please, don't go off what a book says - even tropo could publish one and make a buck... ($1)

You sound like a stockbroker crossed with a taxi driver.
In the past too many brokers bankrupted too many investors...(HIH, ABC learning etc).
Hmmm...Maybe you are one of them?
