Hi Jayce,
You will find that many 'industry super funds' have a default 'unit' of cover that you will pay $1 per week or thereabouts for.
To meet the definitions, generally you need to be considered never likely to return to work in any real capacity in any field which you are reasonably suited by experience or qualification (most 'definitions' read somewhat similar to that anyway). Naturally this makes qualifying for a claim quite hard. I can understand that there would be special difficulty in proving this under mental health conditions.
It is also generally the case that these policies exclude pre-existing conditions...
My suggestion would be to request a claim form from them (Sunsuper). Fill in your details etc. If they knock back the claim, you are in no worse position..
