    Grant has been sharing great strategies about using a SMSF with multiple generations within the family for a few years now and has totally convinced me that this is truly were a SMSF comes into its own when compared to retail and industry funds.

    It also highlights the need for a good trust deed to make the most of the intergenerational strategies.

    Although a lot of advisers tend to focus on the older baby boomer generation in regards to SMSFs, I believe that SMSFs can also be fantastic for us younger Gen X and Gen Y investors and entrepreneurs as we can get both the amazing tax advantages of super without locking all the gains away for decades until retirement (if set up correctly).

    Now with the ability to leverage to purchase property through a 'family' SMSF these strategies have become even MORE attractive.

    Yes - I know a lot of people are holding their breath due to the overhanging changes likely to come out of the Cooper review, but with every change comes new strategies and new opportunities.
