    Seeking DIY superannuation case studies

Looking for everyday Australians who either:
    - Have a SMSF (self-managed superannuation fund)
    - Regularly review theirown superannuation with a view to optimising their return
    - Have a good superannuation tip to share.

We’re looking for real-life stories for case studies to be shared with metro, regional and local media to underpin a major superannuation campaign.

    Deadline: 5pm Monday 22 October.

    Real Life Story.
Esuperfund was my administrator, in the 2010 year they reported a $98000.00 contribution twice. I received a demand fron A T O for 46% tax on $95000.00 which was over my cap. Esuperfund refused to fix it and i paid my new administrator to fix it ($460.00) The Ombudsman is handling this complaint from Nov. 2011 and still they wont pay.
    The old saying,
"YOU ONLY GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR" (and at times, not even that!!!!

Same - I find tax time every year to be a bit of a trauma. I mean getting all the errors back out of our accountant's paperwork. First accountant was good, but he retired. Then 3 accountants over the last 4 years - all make lots of mistakes. Our investments are super simple, but the mistakes keep coming. The accounts just don't add up to the correct total. Maybe this is par for the course? Well I always go through it all carefully to get all the mistakes corrected before submission to ATO.

I think the problem with most accountants is that they simply do not look after enough SMSFs to truly have the scale to look after them properly.

Although, then again, just because they specialise - you can still have issues like cadillacs.
