Hi - I'm 59, intend retiring 65 from C'wealth Government after 35 yrs in CSS.
I'm contemplating converting to the cash investment option for my final years. I would hate to see my lump sum erode any more.

Sensible move on my behalf ? Tks Ric

Folks here aren't allowed to give investment advice, but in the worlds of Homer Simpson, "buy high, sell low, whoo hoo!". Choose your role models judiciously :)

Seek investment advice - your superannuation fund should be able to give you some basic advice.

There may be other investment options that can ensure your capital is preserved while still providing a decent investment return.
