For Q4 a (Michael & Karen assignment) it asks "Briefly explain who is able to receive superannuation benefits upon the death of a member during the accumulation phase and the methods by which benefits can be paid."

Is this different from benefits received after the accumulation phase and, if so, where in the subject notes does it answer this??
This question is referring to dependants of the deceased person or whoever they have nominated with their super fund... 2:6 in the notes

Am really struggling with the SRP one.. its a pain in the but. I underestimated this subject and now have 4 days to knuckle down and try and complete it..

I don't even know what they are actually asking in the first bloody question..? Do they want me to advise Michael on where to invest the ETP & Super benefits.. or HOW he can receive the ETP & super benefits. It's not really that clear..

Ive completed all other modules with no problems or resubmissions, is anyone willing to help me out?

Hi essjays - I completed Q 1 but am still unsure about whether I answered it right as I had the same question running over my mind as you... thought I would move on with the rest of the assignment and send an email to Kaplan to clarify...

Investment Planning 1 Exam

Can anybody give me an idea on what formulas were in the IP1 exam. I have to sit mine in three weeks and am freaking out a little. I get the impression the questions on the last chapter are also difficult.

Thanks

Hi Christine
The exam is feral and yep module 10 is tricky as they pack a lot of information into that module. I was competent in the exam but I relied heavily on my notes. A lot of the answers are in the text however they dont just jump out at you like they do in the other units of the diploma!

There are some calculations but not too many - there is one on finding the Face Value of a bond, another on Capital Gains tax and one on working out share prices. From memory I think that is all but it is pretty intense I may be forgetting about some (sorry!)

The only advice I can give you is dont spend too much time trying to find the answers - if you cant find it "flag it", move on then come back to it - you may find the answer whilst looking for others!

The good thing with the exam is that it doesnt jump all over the place - it sticks to the order of the modules which make it a little easier!

Good luck - I hope this helps

finding the share price of a share.

Question 5 on the Isabella question, is anyone recommending derivatives or shares? Also what are you doing with her liabilities? I was thinking of repaying the mortgage and maybe sourcing a new provider for the inv loan as the interest rate is pretty high, the $3k penalty might be minimal compared to the savings over the remaining term of the contract. Any thoughts?? Cheers
